Canton Local Names Erika Irwin as Faircrest Elementary Principal

The Canton Local School District is proud to announce Erika Irwin as the next principal of Faircrest Memorial Elementary, effective with the 2025-2026 school year. The Board of Education approved the hire at a special meeting on Monday, April 28.

Irwin brings 20 years of experience in education, including teaching and school administration. She currently serves as principal of Gibbs Elementary School in the Canton City School District, a role she has held for six years. Previously, she served as assistant principal at the Canton City STEAMM Academy and spent five years as an instructional coach in the Alliance City School District.

Irwin holds a bachelor’s degree from West Liberty State University in West Virginia, a Master of Science in Reading and Literacy (K-12) from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University.
